There are pictures and images of Jesus everywhere. There are books and movies about him. Bibles are readily available in the book section of our stores. When trouble appears in our lives, the first thing we do is begin to call out to him for help. But....do you really know Him?
Faced with the challenges of our lives in today’s world there are so many things that we can’t understand. A relationship with Jesus Christ is the only way to experience true life....both now and n the future.
Do you know for sure that if you died today you would go to Heaven????
If you can’t answer this question or you have doubts about your answer, we can find the answer in God’s word. I John 5:13 tells us, “These things I have written unto you...that you may KNOW that you have eternal life.”
We cannot stand before God in our own righteousness. We have all sinned and done things that are displeasing to God. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. There are consequences for this disobedience. “For the wages of sin is death,” Romans 6:23. Boy....how depressing that is if it stopped there but the rest of that verse goes on to say....”but the gift of God is eternal life”
Thankfully, God had a plan to redeem us....His gift to us ...involved the sacrifice of his own son, Jesus. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8. The price was paid and all we have to do is accept this “gift” that has been given to us. “That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9.
Do you know Jesus???? If not.....why not???
A relationship with him is the most important one you can have.
The gospel in a nutshell is this. Jesus left his Heavenly home and came to earth as a baby...born of a virgin. He grew up to be a man and willingly gave his life for us. He rose for the grave an then went back to His home in Heaven to prepare a place for us. Even though it may sound like a lot to understand it can be mad as simple as “A B C”
1. Acknowledge that you are a sinner...that you have disobeyed God’s instructions.
2. Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and his death and resurrection paid the price for that sin.
3. Confess him as the Savior of your life.
Perhaps you would like to pray this simple prayer so that you can know that you know him.
“Father, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life. I believe that Jesus died for me
and rose from the grave to make it possible for me to have a home in Heaven. Jesus, come into my life,
take control of my life and forgive me my sins. I confess you right now as my Savior and put
my trust in you for Salvation. I accept your free gift of eternal life.”
If you have prayed this prayer, we would love to know that you have accepted Jesus as your personal Savior. Please send us an email and let us know if there is any way we can help you to grow in him.
